Video: The Early Ministry of Howell Harris

I made another video:

The early ministry of Howell Harris is an incredible ride. Full of energy and excitement, Harris travails the rural landscape of Wales preaching the Word of God, and particularly the convicting message of the law. His ministry was met with great spiritual and physical opposition, but was nevertheless filled with even greater power from the Holy Spirit of God. 

In order to proclaim the good news, we must know the bad news first. Howell Harris's message would be a bit hard for our modern sensibilities to hear, but it was a necessary word for the ignorant and rough population he was ministering to. God worked through Harris mightily to bring conviction of sin and ultimately repentance on a grand scale to the people of Wales in the 18th century.

Dangers of Self-Revolution

Imagine for a moment year 2023 gives you exactly what you want. What if your ambitious resolutions are reached and your year is a year of growth unlike any other?  You may be surprised to hear a word of caution on the dangers of self-revolution. Jesus says an interesting statement in Matthew 12:43-45 as he pulls back the veil on the spiritual realm and describes what proves too often the case with human nature and our success: "When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. Book in Review: "Manhood Restored"

I have been quiet on the blog for the month of March due to a variety of factors (new job/engaged life). Hopefully a book review can get me back on track! Feel free to contact me if you have any ideas for future posts, or would like to write a "guest post" yourself. Eric Mason's book Manhood Restored  seeks to provide an answer to this problem: the gospel of Jesus Christ. Mason begins by describing man's original purpose and function.
