Video: Why read The Calvinistic Methodist Fathers of Wales?

I made a video. It is about a two volume set from Banner of Truth I got myself for Christmas entitled The Calvinistic Methodist Fathers of Wales. Why is it important for us to read works like this in 2021? What encouragement and truth can we glean from it's pages?

Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones once said: "There is nothing more important for preaching than the reading of Church history and biographies." What is said about preaching may be well extended to the Christian life in general, as the reading of God's movements in the past can encourage believers to see what God has done in similar times, and perhaps how he can do so again.

Wales has a rich Spiritual history, and the unique Calvinistic Methodist movement offers much to learn from as I read this work in the coming weeks:

Book in Review: "Manhood Restored"

I have been quiet on the blog for the month of March due to a variety of factors (new job/engaged life). Hopefully a book review can get me back on track! Feel free to contact me if you have any ideas for future posts, or would like to write a "guest post" yourself. Dangers of Self-Revolution

Imagine for a moment year 2023 gives you exactly what you want. What if your ambitious resolutions are reached and your year is a year of growth unlike any other?  You may be surprised to hear a word of caution on the dangers of self-revolution. Jesus says an interesting statement in Matthew 12:43-45 as he pulls back the veil on the spiritual realm and describes what proves too often the case with human nature and our success: "When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it.
